Does the rubber on your pitch- and modwheel peel off?

I have read some threads about the rubber on the pitch- and the modwheel peeling off. I have found a good deal on a LP Tribute Edition, but I have to say that it sounds less tempting, with this annoying problem. It's not really a big deal for me, but for a synth in this price range, these things shouldn't occur.

So I am just curious: How many has experienced this? is this a common problem? Has this happened to your LP? Feel free to post images!

I am new to the forum, and hope to take part of the Moog-world as soon as I get my LP!

I've had my Stage II for a year and a half with maybe 10-20 hours of moderate use per week, it's pristine.

Had my LP for about a year. No signs of wear whatsoever.

Three to four years in and no wear on my mod wheel at all. I wouldn't worry about that man!

I've got a Stage I from 2007, and it's pristine...except for some slight blemishes on the underside from my work bench...

No problems with the wheels (other than a dying blue LED) though.

Long story short, I modified my wheel lights. They aren't overly difficult to change out, but it is kind of a pain. I replaced the orange ones with a red and a blue, and a green and a blue. Right now I have a flickering blue and red pitch wheel and a green and yellow mod wheel. The flickering blue light will eventually be replaced with a green LED. Also, when I sent my LP to the factory for repairs in...2008? I had them change the amber button lights with blue ones. And I have coco bolo side panels as of 2009, with brass inlay no less. And I had Amos sign the back of my LP while in the factory, making it the Amos Gaynes Edition.

And I have had no problems with the rubber coming off my wheels.

Maybe they didn't wash off all the Astroglide before playing.

I use silicone lube for my ribbon controller...it works great! And have not yet had a problem with the rubber on the wheels...perhaps their sweat is, in reality, acid?
