Hello-
Great Idea about the soundbank, that was the first thing I thought we should do on this forum. Here are the 3 sound banks that I know of:

'Zon.syx/mid' - A 128-preset bank that comes loaded on the Voyager. (The first preset is titled "I'm Ba-aack!!")

'twolf.syx/mid' - A 128-preset bank that is downloadable from this site. (The first preset is titled "CLASSIC MINI")

'preset_ref.3a.syx/mid' - A 65-preset bank that is also downloadable from this site (or it was.) (The first preset is titled "Oooof")

So, we have a combined total of 321 presets excellent presets for the Voyager right now.

But I have tons of my own sounds that I would love to share, and I know there are others that do too. A couple of questions about this:
1.) How can we upload the .syx banks to this site?
2.) Would someone volunteer to post these patches/banks at a centralized location where they can be viewed, searched and downloaded?

This would be a great resource if we could just start this....

Well, i don't think that it is possible at the moment to make some uploads here at the forum. Maybe later! I know it is possible at the yahoo mmvoyagergroup. From the Waldorfians (Q,XT) i remember that it was a lot of work for some people to manage the forumsoundset, but they have done a great job and there are allready 3 Sets for the Q as well for the XT (but i think the most work was the conversion to the diffrent q-modells.) So, this problem we don't have.
But still it is a little bit unclear for me, if everything stays like it is inside the OS of the MMV. I heard it could be possible that if all improvments are made to the OS and everything is working fine, they could raise up the soundslots, maybe to 256 sounds or more, if there is space available.

So, best thing would be to collect single sounds via mail, sort them in categories and if there are 128 of them, save them as an bank and upload them to BOB MOOG's Site!?!
I do also have some webspace available, should be enough for many Soundbanks, at the moment it is not setup, but if noone would care about bad webdesign i can also upload single sounds and soundbanks there.
I can also be the mailcollector, but i could not be allways arround an online, i live in germany and got a job to do and.... making music. But i think i can do that.
So, any better or other ideas?

where is the port for uploading bank files at BOB MOOG's site? I couldn't detect any option to do so ...

Do you think that uploading single sound files would be more problematically? (More than whole bank files?)

I think that if a lot of users combine different single sound files to bank files then the overview may be lost very quickly. Especially if those
single sounds are combined together with the original sounds from Moogmusic. Everyone could "feel" different categories ...

The idea of categories is important, but maybe as names for different folders at the files area of the forum.

Any other ideas?

Oh, i see, it's gone. On the old Webpage from Moog, there was an email-link on the download page of the Os and Soundsets. They was saying, if you got any sounds, send them to us....; now it's gone.
Anyway, the idea of single sounds was only like that, that maybe not all MMV's got allready 128 new sounds progemmed. Also good Quallity-Single-Sounds are welcome. the sound should named with initials at last, something like:"Vibrating Bass SH".
But for sure i don't mind if there will a lot of complete banks...

But also Single sounds arer very usefull in my eyes, in the case that i want to use one sound and don't want to loose most of the others.
Anyway, an Soundmanger for up- and downloading Single Soundset and Banks, ... and rearranging Soundbanks would be a very welcome tool for me.

Hi Stefan,

it's not a big thing to program a sound manager at all, but next questions are:

- what computer should it run (MAC | PC)

- what features should be included

If you think of a simple "editor" that helps to arrange singe sound files into a bank file (e.g. leaving not used "slots" as initialized sound) then it could be done in a few days. The output from this would be a Sysex file able to download using MIDI-OX or so.

If you think of a complete program including MIDI implementation, real-time adjusting the knobs & switches, ... then this is more complicated.

Should we write to the webmaster here, if there will be some options for up and downloading?
So, about the tool, i really only mean a simple tool( i am on PC), where you can drag and drop (or move) single sounds let's say from 14 to 87, maybe with an buffer for the moved or overwritten sounds. For sure a midi - engine would be nice too, but only to exchange sysex with MMV. No need for knobs or sliders, i will use the Hardwareknobs anyway.

So, see you tomorrow, i have to leave the net for today!

This might only be a temporary solution, but a friend of mine runs an upload service at http://equinox.homelinux.net/public/uploader/ . You could upload the patch files there, and then place links to them in thread(s) here. It won't be as good as an uploading service here, at the Moog website, but still a possibility.

I just downloaded your patch interpreter and love it. Thank you for all the work you have done on this. I would be willing to pay for your continued efforts by purchasing a final product that would be a patch editor/librarian for PC. I appreciate all your efforts so far, and would really encourage you to make a MIDI patch editor/librarian for the Voyager. I will buy it if you make it.

There is, indeed, a sore need for some sort of patch librarian software for this wonderful box. I use PC, and I'll add this - I'll buy it, as long as it is reasonable. Somebody please write a GP patch librarian! Thanx - darms
