How do you tell what OS version you have on Voyager?

Post by CasaRojo » Fri Feb 11, 2005 11:18 pm

I don't see that info anywhere. My keys don't seem to be velocity sensitive either. Is that an OS mod/upgrade?
TIA

Its shown in the startup screen briefly.
And you can see it in the MASTER menue. Item 5.1

The velocity and the aftertouch are both scalled somewhat unplayable.
But if you set the sound right you should be able to hear them working.

I've watched at start up and there's no version listed and I don't have a "5.1" in the master menu. There's nothing anywhere that tells me my OS version and the manual doesn't make mention of how to find out. Speaking of, I was really impressed with the Model D maual, in fact, I still have mine but the Voyager manual leaves a bit to be desired. I guess I shouldn't complain about anything considering the sound and playability of this wonderful instument. Man, this thing is nice!!!

If u have no os version on boot and no master menu entry labelled 5.1 then your OS is pre version 2.0 so i suggest u update it regardless.

I found the version finally and it *was* in the manual. It's in MASTER- SEND BOOT or something like that... says it's version 1.0. This is brand new #1470. Is Moog shipping with new units with 1.0 I wonder? Can you or anyone reccommend an inexpensive MIDI computer interface?
Thanks,

re- OS update

Post by nigeynige » Tue Feb 15, 2005 9:23 am

I'm absolutely positive Moog wouldn't ship out new voyagers with out of date Operating systems. The Moog team calibrate and updated ready for shipment. I'd suggest contacting the company you bought the voyager. They've probably had it sitting in stock for sometime.
If in doubt, drop the Moog company an email and ask them advice. They could probably tell you when it was shipped out of the factory :)

You got a brand new #1470?
Mine is 1925 and I bought it used last summer. So I guess this synth was shipped to the store with the then newest available OS. But it had been sitting and waiting there to find a buyer. So I would strongly recommend to upgrade it to the OS 2.5. Be sure to read the full instructions about the one time only job of upgrading the patches found inside to the new available patch parameters. And the little 5 min job of changing the pitch bend calibration. Its worth the efford !!!

And blame the dealer you bought the Voyager from for not doing this free of charge for you. Maybe that's why it was waiting for a buyer so long. Its showing the attitude odf the dealer, if he does OS updates once in the while for synth sitting in his store. New OS, better performance and most likely more features. This is better VALUE.

Yep #1470.
It came in the box (still sealed) that Moog shipped it to the dealer in which is fine with me... came from the factory with the blue lighted pitch and mod wheels. I've got no issues with the dealer. I got the best price, by far, that I could find and I received it in four days from WI to FL so...
I've downloaded all the upgrades... haven't read the PDFs yet yhough and ordered a USB MIDI adapter. I'll do the upgrades ASAP.
Thanks :-),
