It's a spectrogram in time of the Midi-Murf mids pattern number 4, that you can clearly see on the white dots here. It looks elongated because the Y axis (frequency) is log on the graph, but not in the book.

Nice! What program did you use? I don't recognize the name VU-Synth (or Vu-EnLigne).

Do you know of any vst's or other ways to run a spectograph?
