so far, I am really liking windows 7-
tried to get it working with my digi 002 rack, but i got bsod about the firewire- so went back to xp on the tower- but the laptop works great with win7 and my mbox2 mini- so if the mp-201 will work, I plan to use it additionally as a midi interface (midisport 8x8 wont work with win7 yet.)-
thanks!

If it's a universal problem, I'll get a patch together ASAP.
Thanks for the heads-up...

Have to add my name to the list. I am using Windows 7. When I run MP201_v20_firmware.exe, I see the following:
Sending 146382 bytes
Sysex sent. Monitor device activity light for completion.
Press ENTER to exit
However, no activity on the device. When I plug in the device, the operating system never detects anything and no drivers are ever installed. I do not see the controller in Device Manager.

We have always relied on the windows default "usb midi device" drivers which microsoft included in all previous versions of Windows. Windows 7 does not seem to include this driver, so we will need either to write our own win7 driver (which would mean hiring a consultant, since Moog doesn't have any windows programmers on staff), or wait for microsoft to release one. My apologies!

I love how "MickeySoft" always seems to remove or change things that we rely upon! I had a similar problem occur at work where the default sever timeout registry setting in IE6 was suddenly changed in IE7, causing once stable software to become very unstable!Amos wrote:We have always relied on the windows default "usb midi device" drivers which microsoft included in all previous versions of Windows. Honestly, if buildings and bridges were built like software is today, civilization would crumble!

Edit: Oh, wait! Civilization may actuallly be crumbling!
Damned programmers...

This is exactly why I'm a Mac. Of course, just because a Mac works for me, I understand that one is not for everyone. No Windows VS. Mac arguments on Christmas, please.mayidunk wrote:I love how "MickeySoft" always seems to remove or change things that we rely upon! Figures. My new pc uses windows 7, and over the years I've been less than impressed with microsoft os. I do believe my next computer will be a Mac. I hope this issue gets resolved before my Taurus arrive - sooner or later, I'll be wanting to program or update the T-3s via computer/midi.Amos wrote:We have always relied on the windows default "usb midi device" drivers which microsoft included in all previous versions of Windows.
