OUT OF THE BOX MINIMOOG Crooked Mod Wheel?

Post by countlove » Tue Dec 28, 2004 4:46 pm

I just got a Mini moog, I pull it out of the box, and the MOD wheel is crooked about 5 degree's or so, perhaps less.. Its really breaking my heart since I just shelled out 3200 bucks.. Is it supposed to be crooked?

Also does anyone know how you can get more soundbanks installed on the moog? I am very newbie.. hehe

Thanks!

Count

Who cares? Well I care.. paid 3200 bucks.. I shouldn't have a manufacturing defect for that price.. Hopefully it can be adjusted...

That's interesting. My mod wheel is also slightly crooked. Iv'e got the backlit kind.

Since it is only an aesthetic issue i've never given it much concern.

So is mine. Only SLIGHTLY, though. Maybe a few degrees and only noticeable if you look closely.

Maybe it's the fact that we notice!

I spend just as much time admiring the looks of my Voyager as I do playing it (naturally).

If I found a chip on my Voyager i'd probably have a heart attack!

Maybe I should enter MA (Moogers anonymous).

Straightening the wheels is a two minute job. Mine were both leaning towards each other. Take the two screws out at the front of the wheel assembly, carefully take out the assembly and bend the buggers so they're straight! They've used quite thin MS plate to hold the wheels, it bends if you so much as look at it.

I realise this may come as a shock to some, sacrilege even, but if it's upsetting you, then just get into it.

I take no responsibility for any disasters that may occur when following the above procedure :P

The Mod wheel on my Voyager didn't work when I got it. One cord had detached from the Pot, so it was easy to fix. However, I think that the Yoyagers should be better packed before shipping overseas.

Well, it seems that Moog is not paying a lot of attention to details....
