Uh am I plugging the line out of the amp or am I plugging the speaker out? Can I plug the speaker out into the Moog? Does it matter how many watts are coming out of the amp and does the ohms matter? Also is the dummy cable just one that's only plugged in at one end(the other end being loose/disconnected)? What is the point of the dummy cable, wouldn't it cause some level of extra noise are it wasn't grounded?Sir Nose wrote:Use an amplified guitar or bass signal to the LP audio in with a dummy cable plugged into the gate and OSC levels all the way down.
Viplay - Thanks for asking about this, I've been wanting to do this for a while now and I didn't want to ask as I've only just recently joined the forums.

I do not know the limits of how hot of a signal you can pass through the LP. The dummy cable is a cable that is not plugged into anything else. It is plugged into the gate to keep it open. Noise should not be a problem since the gate is not in the audio path, it just tells the envelopes to fire. The envelopes stay at the sustain level when a dummy cable is plugged into the gate in. You can use this for a drone or if the osc or VCA sustain ENV is all the way down to filter input audio without any sound from the LP. Sustain level on the filter ENV will control the amount of filtering or use ENV to Filter in the LFO section and use the MOD wheel.
Use the line out for the love of cheese pizza! speaker out = way too hot.Spaghettaboutit wrote:Uh am I plugging the line out of the amp or am I plugging the speaker out? the dummy cable leaves the VCA open so you don't have to hold down a key to run audio through the filter.

WOW THANKS!(same for CTRLSHFT) I wasn't fully expecting anything as good as the answers that I got, was expecting a URL link to wiki or google, THANKS! OH bleep!Sir Nose wrote:I do not know the limits of how hot of a signal you can pass through the LP. The dummy cable is a cable that is not plugged into anything else. (yeah was asking about the speaker out cuz I got a few old tube amps that only have speaker out...hmm maybe I'll try a boost/preamp pedal in place of an amp...)
Once again thanks -Ben S

Basses and guitar processes very similarly in the LP as they do in the Voyager. There's only one mod bus though. So you can either use the main LFO or Osc2 as a low freq LFO. Check my mini-primer in the Voyager Forum.
When processing guitars on the LP, in addition to a regular expression pedal, I use a dual pedal midi foot controller, where the two pedals are assigned to resonance and EG amount, so I got all the filter section covered with pedals, and can play the guitar with both hands.

Yeah I know. I am not set up for video (don't have camera) but that would be best. I can do audio and pretty sweet or mean synth guitar sounds, yet I can't seem to be able to post even a darn pic on this site (if not hosted elsewhere it seems or something like that).EricK wrote:Hey P what would go perfect with your primer would be a video or mp3 demonstrating what you are talking about.Eric

If my 4CV-out-stick-on thingy works, that will make it all worth while to set up a video showing some nice control right onto the guitar body
