Voyager and Andromeda: The Dynamic Duo

Post by MW » Sun Dec 05, 2004 12:52 am

I'm a Voyager owner who just added an Andromeda to my setup and I love it.

I use the QuickLok Z726L with the Andromeda on the bottom and the Voyager on top. Sweetwater has this stand for about $199. It's rock solid. Virtually no wobble at all.

Sonically the Voyager and the Andromeda go together like peanut butter and chocolate --- thick, rich, and oh so sweet.

Nothing can beat the Voyager for sledgehammer-thick basses and diamond-hard leads. And the Andromeda is simply unbelievable for pure analog polyphonic bliss. If you're a knob twiddler, the Andromeda could literally keep you busy digging for new sounds for years. And it sounds wonderful.

If you love analog, put these two modern classics together and you'll be doing the St. Vitus Dance of joy.

MC,

I'm thinking of getting a few bespeco stands, going to have a proper setup in my room. How tall does the Voyager stand above ground level (I'm not too tall)? I plan to have my Prophet-5 with the Voyager on top, and the Pro One on another stand, but I might change that around depending on the situation.

I play standing up so the Bespeco stand and tier is set to maximum height. The stand can be lowered for sitting down or for those "vertically challenged"

With the Voyager on top, the keyboard is at 46 inches high.

46 inches, not bad, maybe just a bit too high for me to play comfortably. I might find the lower synth too low though.

Also are the keyboards directly on top of eachother, or does the top one go a bit further back?

I'm still trying to think of a setup, what would you choose? I'm thinking of A or C!

Setup A or C are good, depends which synth you're using for bass on the left hand side.

The tiers can slide back to give clearance for the P5 knobs, I did that for my Andromeda/Voyager stack. The tier angle and height are adjustable too.
