For a while I was getting some weird shorting thing going on with my ring mod where all the output just sounded like a high-pitched nasal buzz when it was turned on; however I found through chance experimentation that if I plugged the end of a 1/4" jack into one of the lower rear input jacks, somehow it would sorta shock the MoogerFooger back into sounding like it's supposed to. But then it got harder & harder to make it go back to its normal sound, and now I can't get it to go back at all - anybody know what might be up with it and whether I might be able to fix it myself? I've had it for about a year and a half, bought it new from Moog, but I think it's out of warranty now.. If I have to send it back to Moog to be fixed, what kind of repair bill am I likely looking at?
thanks!

Do you have anything connected to the carrier in jack?
If something is connected to this jack without the other end being connected to anytrhing, then you are likely to get the buzzing sound you talk about.
If not, and you are only using the audio input and output jacks, then you may have a fault with the unit.

Well - no, it started happening with no other cords or inputs besides the cord going into it from my bass into the input jack, and the cord going out to my amp in the output jack.
I'm not sure which jack it was that was making it sound OK again for a while, it was one of the middle ones on the lower row - I don't usually look right at that side, so I don't remember what it was labelled, and I don't have it here with me at the moment. But I was just using a little patch cord to do that with nothing attached to the other end. And that, for a while anyway, would sometimes make it work ok (though come to think of it, I didn't actually put that plug in all the way, just enough to contact something, and then sometimes I would have to pull it all the way back out in order for it to work right..)
But the last thing that was happening with it was instead of it making the 102 sound like it should, plugging in a cord into that jack was completely making my bass sound normal, not moogerfied at all. It was going to complete bypass mode somehow.
I'm really bummed because I love this pedal and use it a lot, but this is a really bad time to be spending money on getting it fixed!
