Hi There
This is probably a very basic question but I'm new to moogerfoogers and other cv devices in general, and just want to be sure I'm going about things the right way...
If I want to run a pedal/device with, say an LFO out jack into the CV In on a moogerfooger, should I be using a particular type of patch cable?
I have plenty of "normal" guitar patch leads, but am unsure how this relates to cv ins and outs.
Thanks for any assistance!
Which cables to use for CV control
first thing to check is that the cv output on the other device is no greater than +-5 volts, this way you don't fried your moogerfooger.
As for the cable, i use regular guitar mono cables and they work fine, the only issue is that using this kind of cables doesn't allow you to connect and expression pedal. This is because the current that feeds the pedal gets shortcircuited (i don't know if this word is right, english is not my native tongue), by the mono cable.
If you use TRS cables, you shouldn't have any problem to use an expression pedal on the cv ins of your foogers.
Hope this helps

Right - any type of cable is fine, nothing special required for control voltage signals.
For clarification on patobrujo's comments regarding TRS (balanced) cables: a TRS cable will properly send power from the Moogerfooger to devices like an expression pedal, so you don't need to use a battery or AC adapter on the expression pedal. These connections are explained in the Fooger user manuals, and in the case of the CP-251, they are marked with rings around the jacks on the front panel.
