Voyager's "BEAUTIFUL 1" patch

Post by EricG » Wed Jun 17, 2009 1:18 pm

I remember when playing the moog voyager the preset "Bank 3, 066 BEAUTIFUL 1" was just that, amazingly beautiful !!!
Now I am a happy owner of an Old School model. I would be more than happy if anyone could post the settings for this sound so I could recreate it on my Moog. (A screen shoot from the editor, showing the patch would be great.)

I don't use the editor. I'm not sure I can get it accurate for you because you don't have the calibration numbers that display on the LCD screen. I'll try and interpret what the pots say:

L - R
Glide rate: 4
LFO: between 3 and 6
Modwhl:
Source: triangle
Dest: Pitch
Shaping: On/pgm
Amt.: 1
Pedal
Source: triangle
Dest: Osc 2
Shaping: On/pgm
Amt.: 1.25

Osc 1
Wave: .25 (almost 0)
Osc 2
Freq: -.25
Wave: 1.5
Sync: On
Osc 3
Freq: 0
Wave: 1

Mixer
Osc. 1: about 7
Osc. 2: 10
Osc. 3: 10

Filter
Between 250 and 12 O'clock
Spacing: 0
Resonance: 0
Keyboard: 6
Dual Lowpass both 4 pole

Envelopes:
Filter:
Attack: 2 O'clock (one click above the 1 sec)
Decay: 2 O'clock (one click above the 1 sec)
Sustain: 2
Release: 0
Amt. to Filter: 2

Amp/Volume:
Attack: 9 O'clock
Decay: 12:30 O'clock
Sustain: 4
Release: 1 O'clock (2 clicks above the 1)

No pot mapping

Hope this works for you.

Does the old school have those numbers? I would think not.

Maybe not, but if you look at the picture and realize that the knobs are 0 to 255 it gives you a pretty good idea where to set the knobs. Like a screen shot of the editor. (Even though there is an error in the picture and the noise switch is on when it should not be.)

Thanks for the settings info!

Is there a guide or any place on this site that has a compilation of patch settings like this? Tried the search but couldn't find anything.

Thank you so much for the settings. I will try to "dial" them in tonight after playing with my big band.

I am not sure, but the oldschool patch book is nice :-)
