Voyager with Moogerfooger 102

Post by tunedLow » Sat Nov 13, 2004 6:47 pm

I'm about to get the MF ring mod, I see that it has LFO out and Carrier signal out. Can I use these with the CV ins on my MMV? I already plan on using it with the effect out on the MMV, but was looking for more possiblitiles.

And what about using the effect out and CV?

Thanks, new to CV so any help is appreciated.

Hello,

The signal which appears at the mixer out on the Voyager is an audio (osc)
signal, and while it can be used as a controller, has a different effect from
using an low frequency or dc signal as cv.
You could use the mixer out to get just the signal from osc 1 and have osc 2 or 3 appear separately from the VX-351's bus wheel output.
By having two oscillator signals available as separate outputs from the Voyager, it allows carrier/modulator arrangements to be set up on the MF-102. This method creates metallic and distort tones.
If the 102's (or Voyagers, or CP-251's) lfo is used, it takes you more in the direction of tremolo and special effects.

I got the 101 instead. I've seen a thread on stuff I can do with it and the voyager, so I'll try that. Thanks for the tip though.
