I was going to buy a select series but I don't need the keys and really don't have the space.
Are the controls, sound, interface and LED's much different in the rackmount version compared to a regular Voyager?
Voyager Select Series vs Voyager Rackmount
I have a RME that I purchased less than a month ago for the same reason as you. The main differences are there is no mod wheel or pitch bend, or touch surface. Also, you will need an external CV Expander for the mod options found on the Voyager. One thing to note about the pitch bend is that the analogue oscillators respond better to higher resolution signals (ie. on the voyager I believe the pitch bend sends 14-bit) when a lot of other controllers aren't as high, thus producing a sort of stepping....
The release function switch and another switch is missing, but can be accessed through the digital interface.
This is all I can think of off hand...hope this helps a little...
The most important thing is that it sounds wicked still!!!!

I am pondering this very question. Voyager Select Vs. RME
