question: should all buttons be equally recessed?
question: should all buttons be equally recessed?
OK, I got my new Voyager today, everything seems to be A OK, wonderfully playable instrument - GREAT.
But: the buttons under the LCD. They're not all level with the edge of the panel. Is this normal? Should I send it back? (I hope not).
It doesn't bother me that much, but especially the ENTER button sits really deep, I'm a bit worried that it might not respond in due time or something.
If I have to critisize anything on the Voyager, it's the quality of these buttons.
Anybody has this too?

After reading these (very small) measurements values, I went back and measured mine, and they are:Dazz wrote:PANEL, EDIT and CURSOR are pretty flush
MASTER is about half a mm down, ENTER about 1 mm down
-1 is about half a mm up, +1 about 1 mm up.
Everything works - no double presses required.
I'm not really worried, it seems others have it too?
Panel, Edit, Master: +.5mm
Enter, Cursor: really flush
+1, -1: +1mm
So, everything looks absolutely normal. Now, go play with it! LOL!
Mine are all the same
Hello, Daz:
Just chiming in for balance. I don't even have to take the cover off mine to know that the buttons are all the same. It's not the sort of thing that I could easily live with.
Yours is that new Walnut/Indigo -- very nice
I almost went with Walnut. Agreed the white mod wheels look really nice; I've never seen a select with different colored wheels -- also, I notice your dimmer pot is set way up the side panel (which is perfect, just a noted difference).
I've seen many here that seem to struggle with how much imperfection can they live with versus the worry of shipping their baby back. Maybe the technical people can tell you how to field mod and line those buttons up
I love Moog and everything they stand for -- but I was trying to picture in my mind the folks at the factory firing up the first Selects with the NOISY blue lights and figuring it was no big deal
This kind of stuff boogles my mind and there's really no "excuse."
IMHO!

I have an AE which came out with the blue lit screens first. Mine doesn't make any noise unless you crank the dimmer all the way up, and then the sound made is barely audible. You have to get really close to the screen to hear it. The sound is not heard through the audio chain. I don't consider my Voyager to be defective, nor would I have expected it not to have passed a factory inspection.
