I dunno...stainless would look better with ebony side panels, IMHO. Reddish wood and brass looks absolutely incredible to my eyes, and nothing can really compare. If I was going for black sides, I'd want a stainless steel inlay, because I like the look of silver on black. Ebony is very costly, especially the all black top grade stuff. Coco Bolo is a third of the price of top grade ebony.
Now patina copper is very easy to reproduce. What you do is spray copper with salt water and let it sit overnight. That gives you a perfectly green finish almost immediately. Patina copper inlay would look great on mahogany, ash, even maple. Brass would also look nice on mahoghany, come to think of it. Brushed aluminum, or aluminium, would be a good stand-in for stainless steel, as well. So many metals, too few logos.
