I have been talking to synthwood after i receive these panels im sending him my normal one so he can make a plate that mounts over the cv midi usb etc which will also be labeled. Can not wait for these to come in yes it is a tribute wanna be but it looks nice.

I like to think of it as less of a tribute wannabe, and more of a want to be Moog. Pretty much all their products have wood end-caps, it makes perfect sense that people would want their Stage Editions to continue that tradition. It just looks better than the gray rubberized ones.

The guy doing the work makes his own inlays, including custom ones for a reasonable price. Of course, since he is a friend of a coworker, it may just be a once-in-a-lifetime deal.

I just gave him the design today. I'll hear more tomorrow. You'll hear more as more becomes available to hear. Then, I'll post pictures. Then I'll post more pictures and a video. But first, I gotta let the man work.

As cool as brass would be, I'd love to see a copper one instead.

With a decent .pdf or .dxf file one should be able to give it to a shop that does laser cutting or water jet cutting. A square foot of 101 alloy 1/8" thick copper can be bought for $60-$70 and would yield 24 logo panels at 2" high by 3" wide.

Add a bit of VHB tape for adhesion and voila... instant Moog logo plate that will develop a lovely green patina as it ages.

I'd do it myself, but I don't want to get my ass sued for trademark infringement, so I give the idea to Moog Music for their use.

Unless, of course, they want to release the rights to it back to me and I'll cut 'em in for 50% of the profits.

Christopher, I thought about that. But the red copper wouldn't stand out against the Coco Bolo wood too well.

I dunno...stainless would look better with ebony side panels, IMHO. Reddish wood and brass looks absolutely incredible to my eyes, and nothing can really compare. If I was going for black sides, I'd want a stainless steel inlay, because I like the look of silver on black. Ebony is very costly, especially the all black top grade stuff. Coco Bolo is a third of the price of top grade ebony.

Now patina copper is very easy to reproduce. What you do is spray copper with salt water and let it sit overnight. That gives you a perfectly green finish almost immediately. Patina copper inlay would look great on mahogany, ash, even maple. Brass would also look nice on mahoghany, come to think of it. Brushed aluminum, or aluminium, would be a good stand-in for stainless steel, as well. So many metals, too few logos.

How about not. I like the reddish coloring rather than the brown. Although I can see why you'd suggest that...it looks more like the MoogerFoogers.

Hmm .. i wonder how much does the total cost would be to get wood panels for my LP SE II ? do i have to send them my LP or i'll have to do it myself?
