Voyager Molded ATA Case

Post by Steve » Sun Apr 09, 2006 10:20 pm

Big Hello everyone.
Just play my first live gig with my new voyager AE tonight. I was so happy to show the new baby off. All the other musicians just had to come up and take a peek.

My question.
I realized that it's very very important for me to get a travel case for it.
Has anyone purchased the molded ATA case that moog offers? Any comments on this.
What other alternatives are there.
We tour a lot a so that's why I'm thinking of the hard shell case.
gee I'm going to need a stand too. any suggestions
Thanks moogers

The hard shell case is awesome. It's heavy, but the design makes it easy to move. There are some nice rubber stops on it, so it stays upright and they are useful for moving. You can stack stuff on top of it. I believe the molded case is longer (or is it wider?), but I could be wrong. It's very lightweight (compared to the ATA case). It's been awhile since I've seen the molded case. My first impression of it was that it seemed more awkward in size than the heavier ATA case.

Hi Steve,

I use the molded ATA case and I am very happy with it. The handle and wheels make for very easy transporting. Plus, I've never had the slightest bit of damage to my Voyager. If you're taking your synth to gigs (local or out-of-town), the price is worth the security.

On a personal note: Hey Steve, maybe you remember me..!!??!!

Get the molded case. I took mine on a world tour and it didnt break and neither did my voyager. its very roadworth and a lot lighter than the full flight case, tho if you are putting your voyager through lots of planes you maybe better off with the metal case!

ATA aluminum one is great! I've taken it on numerous flights and my baby has stayed in tact, I can see where the case has taken the beating instead, only thing is together they weigh 82Lbs or so...$50 each way on the plane...

Thanks for the feedback about the molded travel case.
I'll order one today. I found a website company called www.audiosyncrazy.com
that sells the case for a good price.

I'm in the market for one of these cases,

Can anyone who owns the molded case, please post a photo of the interior / lining of the case (empty or full is fine)!

Much appreciated!

can somebody post the actual measurements of the Molded ATA Case for the Voyager? I would like to know how big it really is.
I can't find any webpage with specifics on that case.

I have been looking for the interior of the molded case as well.

And I fund it on this page.

Looks pretty cool, I need to get one as well. It´s a good investment when you´re touring a lot.

If you have a Voyager, just get the molded case and be done with it. I ordered mine the day I got my voyager, as I couldn't bear the idea of taking it out of my studio without one.

Far as I know, the one offered by Moog is the only one currently produced specifically to fit the Voyager. You can have a custom case made, but why bother.

The Moog case is (like most Moog things, overbuilt) and is BIG. You can, however put a full compliment of cables and accessories in the case with your voyager and you're good to go.

Expensive? I paid $289 from Guitar Center for mine, so given the cost of a new Electric Blue and keeping it protected, its a bargain.

Forget a gig bag for a Voyager, unless you don't mind dents in the wooden case.

the hardshell case is a no brainer. protect that expensive analog sexiness. i wouldn't even think about transporting my OS without it. the case is large, but not awkward to move around.
