I bought a Moog 6 months ago, purely because i wanted a synth dedicated to basslines.

It took some time till i was able to actually find the good sounds from it and a way to make them useful.

Needless to say, the last 20 or something production that i have finished has been with the Moog Phatty as primary source of bass.

I used to struggle alot with basslines, but after i got the Moog, basslines are now the least of my concern when it comes to making music.

Its really awesome for it, if you buy one, give it some time and you will find it more useful for bass than any other synthesizer.

Its so awesome, that i hope one day i could get a Voyager to support it.

Two thumps up :)

Here are some samples of tracks that uses the Moog purely for bass if ur interested.

I spent a good 3-4 hours in Guitar Center the other day. Based on what people have said and the specs and reputation I was excited. After an extensive play on it I am BLOWN away!!!! I wish I had my latop with me to record some of what I was doing, quality, word class basslines in seconds. I had a play with the Prophet 08 and Nord Electro too and the LP sound trumps the both of them. Sure the Prophet has some amazing features on it but the warmth and ease of use on the LP has got me drooling. My tax returns should be in my account this week and I bought some new monitors and a M Audio Fast Track Pro to accompany my new baby. On a very small downside I was slightly disappointed in the quality of the plastics used on the knobs and wheels, I was expecting Bentley but felt more like Hyundai. It's not a big deal, the sound is whats important but would love some heavier knobs. Are these available?

Any word on the ReKon editor release?? It is early spring but no word on the ReKon website, actually nothing to do with the LP whatsoever. I would make full use of this and the sooner it comes the better. =) Has anyone used the controller that was posted on this forum??

Darkartois,

Did you get a chance to compare a voyager to LP while you were at GC.

My new LP will be used as my go-to synth from now on for all my dubstep basslines and other grime / electro stuff that I do.

I'll also be using it as a great analog filter for other audio material, the overdrive feature is great. I've been messing around with the audio input and the filter overdrive, and to my ears it sounds a bit like an Electro Harmonix big muff pedal if you open up the filter all the way, reduce the resonance to 0, and crank the overdrive. And then you can tweak the filter and it just sounds amazing.

Also the new arpegiator is way cool. :P

sweet. your intentions are the same as mine then =) Can't wait to get it on my monitors. All the kids making crap noise in Guitar Center muffled my sweet b-lines. I really feel I can use it for waaaay more than basslines now. hurry up tax return!!!

I have a decent number of synths, analog and digital (tho mostly analog) and out of all of them, the Little Phatty has become my go-to machine for bass. The dirtier, the better...

here's a little clip from a track of mine, Phatty on bass:
