It might show you a very overdriven signal but if your VCA is closed its not going to be audible. Hold down a key and try it and youll hear the drums through there. If you turn the envelope to external, it will open the vca up all the way and youll be able to filter your drums out like you want.

I imagine that would be kind of difficult to monitor though, because your drums will bleed through the headphones. Recording drums is a pain in the butt. If you had some drum mics going into a mixer though and the mixer out to the voyagers mixer input then that might make that world easier.

THe key is to get it sounding good, and in my experience with the audio input, its very very easy to get distortion, usually I have to turn down the oscs to compensate if I don't desire the overdriven effect.

you gotta switch the on/off switch for the External input on in the mixer section and turn up the LEvel knob next to that

put amplitude envelope sustain all the way up but Decay at MINIMUM
(if decay is too high your signal level will slowly decrease)
switch kb gate switch to External...

that should basically do it...

Every now and then, when I'd run my iPod through my Voyager, the volume would gradually die. Thank you!

Why is it that the decay knob affects the volume of the external input, even if the sustain is set to 10?
