upgraded to os 2.0 and new presets but cant hear them

Post by TJR » Tue Mar 03, 2009 7:05 pm

I have a LP Stage 1 and I upgraded to OS 2.0 and I uploaded the 2.0 presets. When I scroll through the presets I only hear some randomly. I hear some crackle and popping as I scroll through and the patches that I do hear dont sound well. I've tried restoring factory presets but that didnt do anything. I tried re-installing the OS and factory presets but the same thing is occuring. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I thought when I upgraded both the OS and new presets I'd just be able to scroll through each patch, press a key and I'd hear the patch. It's driving me crazy. Please help, thanks

Sounds like a corrupted file to me. Either that or you upgraded using the Tribute Edition OS, which doesn't make sense, but accidents do happen. Either way, I'd e-mail Amos at moog music [dot] com.

It's not the tribute OS. When I bought the LP, everything worked fine, it was once I upgraded to the new OS is when all this crap happened. I will email Amos, thanks

You don't need to upload the OS2 presets separately, in fact I'm not too surprised this didn't work.

The right thing to do is to do a Factory Restore after you load the new OS.
Go to the Master Menu, System Utilities, and choose "Restore Factory."

This will set up all the global and preset data correctly for the new OS, and it also loads the 2.0 presets into memory so you can hear them.

So, this will do the job... and also, after the Factory Restore everything should be set up correctly, so you could then load presets by MIDI and they would work.

Hope this helps,

Amos
