"popping" MuRF
"popping" MuRF
hi everyone,
My MuRF arrived today (hurrah!) and while great fun and sounding amazing, just one small thing bothers me: when i turn the effect off, the amp 'pops' a little, like an earthing problem or something?
i can't remmember if it's been doing it from the start (too busy having fun to turn the damn thing off!), or its developed in the few hours i've had it or maybe its just part of what the MuRF does?
but i was wondering if anyone else has a experienced something similar?
"...whuurrrll.. whooosh...*pop* .."
thanks!

chazmataz,
I recently bought a Murf and had the "popping" noise when switching off (bypass). I was running my electric violin with peizo pick up into the Murf and then into the amp. Even more recently I put a preamp (Presonus AcoustiQ) between the violin and the Murf. Well, the popping noise disappeared. It was not the reason I got the preamp, but an unintended side effect. I can't explain why it solved the problem for me. Otherwise, my solution was to leave the Murf on all the time because I like the filter.
