There are 896 presets on the voyager, some like Speaker Danger Bass says it all. All you need to do is dial in a triangle wave @ 32 feet on Osc 1 with a sawtooth wave at 32 feet on osc 2 and another triangle wave at 32 feet on osc 3, open the filter all the way and check the richter scale.

If thats not fat enough for you then you are just a fat connisseur with inexplicable tastes. :)

A lot of people don't like the presets and some I could do without. SOme people refuse to use any presets or patch memory at all. Don't judge the Voyager by the presets, those are just guides. THe best journeys on the voyager are off the beaten paths.

Eric
I understand.... Unfortunately, I didn't have a lot of time in the store to experiment with it. Just my initial feeling with the fact it costs over $3,000.00, the price seemed to be a bit high for what I heard. However, I do understand my feeling was based mostly on the presets (I did tweak a few knobs, but nothing extensive). If I get another chance, I will follow your suggestion with a raw patch.

You can hit the edit button and find
INIT Paramaters

or just hold down the cursor button and the up arrow, go to bank G and go all the way to about 75 or so which shoudl be blank presets and start there.

Its cool.

I understand though about being turned off by the price, it can make you less interested.

Its definately worth it, it can get hella fat, perhaps in a different way than the LP but we will see how fat the Taurus is when it comes out.

Thanks for all the info, it is greatly appreciated. I would have to spend more time with the Voyager to get more comfortable in seeing what it can do. For now, I'm going to get my Studio Electronics SE-1 upgraded and see how that turns out.

There's always the used market, as well. Also, you can set aside money in a Voyager fund. That's how I bought my rig. Except I had a Little Phatty fund.

Nothing wrong with that, SE-1x is a great synth, with a juicy and sexy sound :D Let's put it this way... SE-1x is Halle Berry, Voyager is Cate Blanchett, both different, both beautiful and talented.

Model D is Helen Mirren, vintage, but still hotter than the new competition ;)

The Voyager strikes me as more of a Halle Berry. Just my opinion.

Well, if Voyager is Halle Berry, then the SE-1x is Beyoncé Knowles... A great sound and a great range, with a low-end to die for... oh forget it...

But Little Phatty is Cameron Diaz. Not quite as versatile, but easygoing and very energetic, peppy! :P No jokes about Rosie O'Donnell, please...

Somebody please don't say that the SE-1x is like Rosie, if it is, let me know ASAP as my SE-1 is in route to be upgraded!!!! I may have to rethink this.... No offense Rosie.

When you add a 2600 or a modular, give me a shout!

I'm still trying to find a T-8 to add to the collection. Seems to be pretty rare now.
