I have a few concerns about this software. Whilst I love Moog, and the Minimoog Voyager is the best synth I have ever owned, I must say that i have experienced software by the same programmer before and not been impressed. I also own a Dave Smith Evolver and purchased the software editor which is by the same company. I was excited by the facilities and interested by the mutating and morphing of patches. I got some great sounds from these functions but had lots of problems saving sounds and ended up losing them. I couldn't find a manual online or any documentation. There were also lots of niggly little bugs like the envelope graphics not working and the communication between synth and software seemed to drop out ocassionally. I wasn't alone in my frustration, check out the evolver yahoo forum for more dissatisfied customers.
I just hope they have sorted these problems out for the Voyager version.
I think the idea of a software editor for the Voyager is a bit weird. Surely the joy of the minimoog is its hands on programming capability. I know that any synth programmer would rather be interacting with the chunky knobs and dials of the real thing than a software editor. i guess its main use will be for patch organisation and backup.
So I hope someone who has purchased the new software can let us all know that it is bug free and everything works as it should.
