Soundset sharing!

Post by theglyph » Mon Sep 06, 2004 3:07 pm

1)I'd love to be able to share sounds or soundsets that i have created on my Waldorf Q and MMV. I usually export these sounds/soundsets as sysex files (* see 2 below) so i was wondering where and how i could send these files via the internet to anyone who may like to import and perhaps enjoy them.

2)Qwave, or any other Q owner, i'm assuming it's not possible to send individual sound banks as sysex files out of the Q (considering there is no option for this in the Utility menu). Therfore, is it possible to use a sysex utility like (SysEx Librarian (BTW, a great program, and it's free!) to capture individual sounds and store all as a single sysex file (i.e. Set SysEx Librarian into record mode and then, as it's recording, send single sysex sound dumps from the Q)?

BTW, 97 knobs (Q & MMV) to turn. Imagin the possibilites!!!!!!!
Also, Let's not forget the buttons, switches and wheels!

Best wishes!

By attach them to emails or creating a download area on a webspace of yours. Or open a Yahoo group. But I would recommend to share them on an existing group. There is a Moog Voyager and two Waldorf Yahoo groups existing.

You should better post such OT questions on a Waldorf forum like the one I admin at waldorf.synth.net = www.waldorf-music.com

Anyway, of cause you an do so on the Q:
Go to the Utillity Menue and turn the big red knob counter clockwise until you see "Dump Single Sound". Here it is what you were looking for.
keep on turning these Moog knobs

Till "Qwave" Kopper
