Reason to Voyager (among other software)

Post by tunedLow » Tue Aug 31, 2004 2:29 pm

Has anybody had tried using Reason's Matrix sequencer with the voyager? (or used reason with the mmv at all for that matter?)

I'd like to use an external sequencer with MIDI, and have read some posts on it in this forum. Reason happens to be the software I have.

I tried the Quartz freeware version, however, when I tried to enable the midi on my card in the preferences menu, it said that that feature wasn't available - not sure if that's due to the freeware, of that my card if having problems (it's an M-Audio 2496, midi in/out).

I've seen that people suggest Logic and Cubase - will the low end versions of these have midi sequencers?

Any others that I might try?

Thanks.

can reason output midi yet? I didn't think it could until 3.0.

I presume you are the guy who emailed me about this. The freeware version does indeed work, you might want to read my reply to your email.

Good luck!

Thanks for the replies.

I was doing some research on this, and it looks like I can, but I would have to use rewire with a reason compatible program like Cubase.

In teakerheads.com a reason tutorial reads:
There is only one major thing you can't do with Reason: You can't control external synths with it. That's important if you are considering Reason as a one and only sequencer. It can only sequence itself.
