Do you want new features in the Taurus?
Well i thought it might be interesting to find out how people feel about his (or maybe not - it's up to you). A bit more detail on the options before you vote.
Option 1 of keeping it all original has the caveat of Moog adding MIDI, arpeggiator, memories, 1.5 octave pedalboard etc. already. So in this case i'm talking more about keeping the form factor the same with no additional knobs, synthesiser functions etc.
Option 2 is yes to adding functions, but to keeping them minor and keeping the main form factor intact. Eg. say adding a Little Phatty overdrive would add one additional slider 'under the hood' and the overall look and function would remain the same.
Option 3 is yes, but with not a care on how it changes the overall look of the Taurus. i'm assuming this will not get any votes but i may be wrong.
Personally i wouldn't mind an additional slider or two hidden under the plastic panel, an overdrive would be nice, or maybe an audio in jack for filter-processing external sounds.
If you'd like more functions please specify what they are. i am also assuming that none of us want the original sound compromised in any way, so any additional features need to be realistic and would have to be 'disable-able'.

I voted yes and I don't care if it is knob festooned.
I think the controls should be foot oriented though. I don't know too many people twinkle toed enough to precisely tune the frequency of a floor based 102 lol.
I think what I would really like to see is a full ADSR
I just hope that it either looks like the original or matches the Foogers.
All that I personally want to do with these pedals is control it with the Voyager, a Sequencer and get Moog duophony going on. Id also like to be able to externally control the filter and pitch.
CV outputs would be wonderful too, who wouldn't want to have their Freqbox track the Taurus provided that the VPO was compatible with the HZ/V degisn of the Tauru's Oscs.

I'd like to see hard sync, audio FM to filter cutoff from the hard sync'd VCO, and filter EG sweep to the hard sync'd VCO.
This comes from extensive use of my Moog Source as a bass synth. Hard sync and filter FM (I modded my Source to get this feature) are very useful tools for bass sounds. Filter EG sweep to the hard sync'd VCO is a feature from the Memorymoog that was useful for bass sounds too.

Wouldn't it be interesting if it or any other synth had an audio modulated set of VCOs? Freqbox style except its a full system. Footswitch gate to the filter.
lolol Play that with a bass guitar and youll be unstoppable.
Play it with the Moog guitar and youll be omnipotent!

That would be almost as awesome as if Kevin Lightner collaborated with Chuck Norris to design a synth!EricK wrote:Wouldn't it be interesting if it or any other synth had an audio modulated set of VCOs? Freqbox style except its a full system. Footswitch gate to the filter.

Why would we want bass pedals to go an octave higher? I'd want them to go an octave lower! Like, how about 64'?

Yikes Voltor...are you trying to destroy foundations?? Anyway, in my particular case, that extra octave would be useful.
Oh, and P.S. - I have a "thing" about naming my pedals...first, I got my Taurus and named it Morris. It seemed appropriate, you know? "Morris the Taurus". Anyway, a little later, along came some Roland PK-5A pedals, and I decided to name them Doris. Well...after reading around on this forum and seeing all the Chuck Norris stuff, I decided that once I get my hands (feet) on a Taurus 3, it's only right that they should be named Norris.

YOU STOLE MY IDEA! Oh well. Mine shall be named Chuck. Destroy foundations? No. Civilizations, perhaps. Planets, definitely. Have you heard my idea for amplifying my rig? I'll tell you. An 8-channel stereo powered mixer, such as the Yamaha EMX312SC, powering a pair of Kustom KPC215's. Total cost, a mere 900 USD.

You're on the right track when it comes to ampling the Taurus...Each of those Kustom cabinets (Kabinets?) contains two 15" speakers right? When I was in a Rush cover band, our PA was a powered 8-channel mixer which pushed two Yamaha 2x15 cabinets...man oh man, could you feel it when I played the pedals! You can't go wrong with four 15" speakers and Taurus pedals.
