3 -> 1 FM

Maybe this is a no-brainer, but I checked the manual and do not see how to control the depth of modulation for Osc. 3 to Osc. 1 FM. Naturally you can use the control bus for Osc. 3 -> Osc. 2 FM and get depth control there, but then it is next to impossible to tune Osc. 2 anywhere near Osc. 1. I usually have to disengage Osc. 1 in that case.

When the linear fm function is engaged, the percentage of modulation (or mod index) is fixed-value. I believe Yamaha's DX instruments also had a fixed-value mod index. The timbral changes you got were created by varying the carrier/modulator frequency/amplitudes.
I was once curious about a mod to choose a lesser amount (75 or 50 percent) via a three position rocker switch, but additional hardware settings such as this probably wouldn't be stored in patch memory as the software is presently structured.

Yeah thats a pretty good Idea.

It just needs some attenuation. It would almost be even cooler if you had an Osc 3 to Osc 1 TRS jack that would allow us to attenuate it, or combine it with other signals via the cp251 Mixer to get complex waveform FM to Osc 1.
