The Tribute doesn't have the Noise and Sample & Hold sources if I'm correct, so it's a slightly different operating system.

No, no sample and hold and noise.
But I could use the CP 251 for that.

Yes, you could. I actually prefer to use the CP-251 for that on my Stage Editions but it's useful for internal routing.
Strange that they didn't included the features in the 2.0 upgrade.

If you have a Tribute and you are not on os 1.03TC ( make sure it is for the Tribute, follow the directions in the readme) download it from the Moog website and update as soon as you can :)

Noise and S/H are in the Advanced Prset Menu, scroll to Mod Source 5, then cursor over you'll see osc 2, turn the data knob and you then have noise. Cursor back to the left and advance to Mod Source 6, the cursor over to Filter, turn the knob and you'll have noise. From the front panel you the press either Filter ( now set for noise) or osc 2 ( now set for S/h) the apply to what ever destination you want. you have to bring the mod wheel up to apply :).

Hadn't yet checked the advanced Preset settings:
Both are still present in OS 2.01 T!

because it isn't available for download. The only people with OS2 for Tribute are people who have had their units upgraded by Moog music or your Moog distributor. OS2 will not be posted on the web because it will break your LP* if you try to load the OS onto a unit that has not been physically upgraded.

*it won't break anything permanently, I don't think... but the unit will be unusable until you re-load a compatible OS.

1.04T for Tribute will be posted to the web tomorrow, I think. This OS version will work on any LP Tribute and contains the new "EGR Matrix = Auto' mode. Stay tuned for updates.

if you have the memory upgrade I will personally send to you the new OS.
I just don't want to put it on the web right now because I am afraid people would try to install it on non-upgraded LP units.

Hi all,

First of all, I was just wondering if anyone knows whether the digital noise reduced in the tribute is reduced in the new hardware upgrade?
Is this what it means in the page on the upgrade when it says. "New hardware will also be added improving the signal to noise ratio of all CV's including the Envelope Generator Matrix."?

Also, if this is the case, does anyone know if the tribute upgrade removes any of the real analogue control?

It doesnt really worry me that much, I am going to get the upgrade anyway, but just wondering if anyone knew?

Rob
