MP-201 no Gate Signal

Post by dkdent292 » Fri Nov 28, 2008 9:23 pm

hi folks,

i´ve tried to use the MP201 to trigger my Roland System 700 via GATE and it didn´t work :(
the LFO Square Wave could, but when i choose the gate mode nothing happens, even no lights are blinking in this mode.
is this a bug or a feature? ;-)
any ideas?

It sends the gate signal when you press a button (I think it is button 4 in Single Channel Mode). Is yours not doing that?

yes, i know. after a os update the trigger button works!

btw. is it possible to trigger the gate via MIDI?
for a steady beat it would be nice to use a midi sequence.
the midi triggered LFO did not work correct. sometimes the timing is a bit off :-/

Hi Dirk,

To trigger a gate via MIDI, you simply need to send the correct MIDI Continuous Controller value to the Multi-Pedal:

0 - 63 = Gate OFF
64 - 127 = Gate ON

Hope this helps!

yeah, controller 80 works fine! excellent.
now i´ve a very good live trigger and only need a 10volt amplifier to amp the 5 volt signal for my system700. momentarily i use the env follower to trigger.
thank you very much!
