As long as we're daydreaming, how about a video synthesizer? :)

It could accept some CV inputs and gate ins for sync'd events.
The OS could come with lots of presets, but made open-source for people to develop plug-ins, etc.
Maybe the Voyager touchpad for real-time manipulation?
How about a built in "gooseneck" camera done like the Little-Lite lamps?
Or an ultrasonic transducer that senses crowd movements to make them part of the video manipulation?

like the Kaoss Pad Entrancer or whatever its called, but with CV? i could see that going well with the club scene specially the whole crowd movement part. that would be really interesting to pull off. it kinda reminds me of this thing i read about the orginal Dr Who opening credits. where they actually created a video feedback loop. ive been wanting to try that but dont have the means

rack edition of the lovely old school!!!

Post by waxdoctor » Sun Nov 16, 2008 1:16 pm

my big favourite would be a rack edition of the old school(incl. all the CV's ins and outs)!!!

I always try to order a cwejman s1 - but immediately before I stop ordering it - the reason: I always hope that our good fairies at MOOG will make my dream come true with the OS RME - for a more affordable price than the S1 and below the old school keyboard ed.

yes, this would be my endless and goodlooking/sounding love!!!
LPSE#00882,MF-101,102,103,107, CP-251(w/o red jacks), an EP-2 as well, MMVOS #0349, mfb-502,503 & xbase888, vermona per4mer, future retro xs, sms mars/planet7; oth./digi: monomachine mk2, blofeld, clavia electro 2, machinedrum

and then post to explain your choice (if you want to)

if you choose a fooger say what kind you want.
I'd like to see Moog produce a rack that would fit in the base of the Voyager, in back of the open front panel, that would contain an expanded VX-351, a CP-251, and spaces for either existing MF modules, or a set of new, and reissued modules, that could also be used in modular packages. It would be a self-contained modular extension specifically for the Voyager!

And, I think a step-sequencer would be a good idea for a new module!

heh heh... fevered dreams. :)

Id like to see a few things:

1. cp251 style unitconsists of 4 chan audio mixer, 2 envgens 2vca's, dual trigger delay, envelope follower (can't have too many of those!)

Necessity:This will satisfy the queries for the completion of the moogerfooger synth as well as fill the hole left in someones RME rack that consists of a vx351/352/cp251.
Note: I throw the env follower and dual trigger delay in there because they were already in the Moog 55 and are essentially an envelope bank.

2. Little Phatty RME
Necessity: This will allow Voyager/Phatty owners to have duophony AND the nice filter overdrive at a reasonable price (perhaps 750-850 dollars).

3. Touchpad controller (possibly a fooger style housing)
Necessity: This will allow owners of either the Voyager RME/OS or the Phatty to have a moogerfooger sized touchpad.
Note: Bob already designed one and owners of the vx-351 connected to the RME will benefit from those X-Y-A outputs finally.

THe above are things I think are very feasible for Moog Music to manufacture and are things I believe are needed.

Anybody want to keep their fingers crossed for the winter NAMM???

This is what I want also! A CV X-Y-Z Touchpad, just like the one on the Voyager, but on it's own.. Like the one from the 80s. Seems like it would be very popular, for Foogers, for Voyager OS, etc. Korg sell a bunch of them.. but with just MIDI, it does me no good!

I still say a sequencer with a CP-251 form factor.
Little Phatty TE #1023 • Schrittmacher • Walking Stick ribbon • Korg microXL/Electribe MX/KaossPro • Sonnus G2M
MF-101 Filter • MF-102 Ring • MF-103 Phaser • MF-104Z Delay • MF-105 MuRF • MF-107 FreqBox • MF-108M Cluster • Etherwave

Thanks, EricK!

Due to space limitations, I haven't set the micro up yet, though in time that will happen. I figure that, for now, I would just work with the Voyager, the CP and VX modules, and learn as much as I can. I'm not even thinking about the other gear right now! Perhaps later on I'll try hooking up the Micro, and then see if I can hook up the Junos as well!

Utter mayhem!!

I'll bet if Moog marketed this, there would be plenty of non-OS Voyager owners who would buy it, simply because they could then place it on the left-hand side of the keyboard, instead of having to reach across!

along with pretty much everything mentioned so far, I would like to have a modern moog parametric eq in either fooger or cp style box, that could be driven to distortion (like the other foogers) and not cost $900
