Editor/Librarian Demo: Unable to Receive Banks from Voyager

Post by denkom67 » Tue Oct 21, 2008 11:38 am

Hi there,

I am trying to give the Editor/Librarian demo a whirl to determine if I want to purchase it. I'm unable, however, to receive preset banks from my Voyager. In looking at the online Help related to the demo restrictions, it states that the software is restricted from transmitting user banks. I'm unclear if this means it is unable to transmit presets BACK to the voyager, or more generically if this means transmission to and from the Voyager is disabled. Im pretty sure I have everything setup properly (I also have a DSI Poly Evolver and have been using the Sound Tower software successfully to transfer banks back and forth from the keyboard to my computer), and when I request preset bank transfer from within the editor software, I am seeing the MIDI light on my Voyager light up. MIDI Out is turned on on the Voyager, SysEx is enabled in Receive Presets. Anything else I need to set, or is it just a limitation of the software that I can't receive preset banks in demo mode?

Thanks,

Matt

Forgot to mention: I've tried on both Windows Vista (in XP compatability mode) and Windows XP, multiple versions of the software (3.4, 3.0, etc.), and same result in each case.

You should be able to pull presets from the Voyager to the PC without a problem, but you will not be able to send presets from the PC to the Voyager unless you purchase the licence.

This allows you to see how you can move presets around in the software, and make global changes ( like making every patch have the same pitch wheel settings or keyboard priority ) but you can't send the patches back to the Voyager.

Hop this helps.

Thanks Steve. I must have something setup wrong then, but can't figure out what. :( I have an email in to the folks at Sound Tower as well.
