i set up my phatty stage ii, to control my virus ti desktop, via midi. ive since unhooked the ti, and i have no output noise on the phatty whatsoever! when i turn it on or off, i can hear my speakers pop.. but when i press a key, i hear nothing! this happens with both, the output, and the headphone jack. plz help!!

What are your MIDI SETUP settings? Have you tried various settings in the MASTER menus?
Minitaur, CP-251, EHX #1 Echo, EHX Space Drums/Crash Pads, QSC GX-3, Pyramid stereo power amp, Miracle Pianos, Walking Stick ribbon controller, Synthutron.com, 1983 Hammond organ, dot com modular.

...could be the local control has been turned off... check under the MIDI master menu... or, if you had hooked up both MIDI IN and MIDI OUT to the Virus, maybe a MIDI volume message of 000 was sent from the Virus...

the other possibility is to make sure the output button on the LP is on... obvious, I know, but not always the first place you'd look when tracking down a seemingly complicated answer... good luck, jgirv

That would make sense except no audio comes through his headphones...but that was my first thought.

all notes off

...that's just a panic button if MIDI notes are sticking... it's been on most synths for years... you probably won't ever need it, unless you hold a note and unplug the MIDI cable while ya hold it...

Glad you got everything straightened out! -- jgirv
