Theremin patch for Little Phatty ?

Post by prospect » Wed Sep 24, 2008 12:28 am

Does anyone have a theremin sound programmed for their Little Phatty?

I really want it and can't exactly figure out how to program it.

Well, I'm not sure it will work as I haven't tried it myself yet but I guess you could use one oscillator and set it to triangular wave in a high register (8" or maybe 16"). Use the filter and resonance to finetune the depth of the sound and turn the glide on (adjust it properly for a good simulation of a theremin).
As for the envelopes, try fairly slow attacks and smooth releases for both filter and amplifier.
Also, set your modulation from triangular wave (source) to pitch (destination) and take it easy on the amount. One step should do fine. LFO speed should be 2 or 3 steps counterclockwise but can be adjusted to your own taste.

Let us know if it works. :)

You really gave me a great start!
Sounds pretty darn cool.

I found that you have to play with the MOD wheel quite a bit to bring in the vibrato at the right times to get that theremin feel.

This thing is so much fun.

Great to hear that it works!

You can also set the legato to 'reset' in the advanced preset menu (ADVANCED PRESET> GATE: LEG RESET) for smoother transitions while playing legato. ;)
