Moog Modular V
Hello, I am new to this particular piece of software.
I have downloaded the demo and was wondering.....do I need to have midi connected to make it work? I only have an ickle laptop and it does not have a midi port! Can I use the qwerty keyboard with it like VAZ?
Also what are the limitations of the demo?
Cheese people!

Hi - I haven't tried the demo with midi, but the demo version has an intermittent white noise thing, and you can't save presets - or download new ones.
I have mmv software and it's great. There are several improvements that NEED to be made, and Arturia has committed to making them soon.
I've been able to use MIDI OX to run it from the same laptop, but it has performance issues. Works better as a standalone, as it's fairly CPU intensive.

Midi?
Does that mean that it does NOT have to be used with Midi then?
Basically I don't have any midi ports...so........ I can I still use without Midi?
Thanks

Do you have USB ports? If you do then you can just get a keyboard with a built in USB MIDI interface such as the Radium or Keystation by www.maudio.com

Hey all First post,
Dunno about the demo limitations but
You might want to put the demo as a vst in a host application (I use fruity loops and others) and then use the Trollo pluggin.
Trollo allows your qwerty-board to send Midi outs
however this must be done within vst since (i think) there is no Trollo standalone. Find Trollo at http://www.kvr-vst.com along with a lot of other free plugs
annother solution might be Midijoy a prog that lets you send midi with a joystick. rather an odd controller but good for some things
remember also that you can get the midiyoke prog that creates virtual midi ports for interconnecting programs and allows you to take midi out from a seqencer program and deliver it to the stand alone Moog V
hope that helps

My first Moog? The Source. Wish I had it now....
George, just wondering what kind of midi lag you're getting with your setup.Mac Money wrote:I bought the Mini Moog V a week ago and LOVE it.
I'm using a MOTIF 6 as a controller.
Win XP, Digi TDM Mix 24 card, and MOTU-2408.
Hope this helps![]()

I like playing around with the MMV a lot, but on my system the lag times are really bad. Is that because of the cheap midi interface that I use?

Well . . . Arturia have put it up for consideration but like the piano bar i could see it being built by moog.
This is purely an artists impression at the moment but at least it has come from Arturia themselves (it was part of a questionare they put out some while back).
Presumerably this could already be an option in some of the other VSTi hardware devices like the Muse?
