Filter glide mod done but it doesn't filter glide!

Post by markorbit » Mon Aug 11, 2008 3:52 pm

Hi, I really need some clarification here. I have just got back my RME and one of the things I requested was to apply the filter glide mod. It does NOT behave as I expected so I would like to be sure of my facts before I get back to the service people. It wasn't exactly cheap.

First of all I turn all osc OFF and turn the resonance UP. I can now hear self oscillation only.

If I play the keys then yes the filter pitch changes (KB Cont Amnt is on) BUT if I use the portamento on a big glide say from low to high then what happens to the filter pitch is this:

I get two distinct notes with NO gliding between them. If I bring an osc back in, I can hear THAT glide but as soon as I press the second note of the intended glide then that's where the filter goes immediately whilst the proper note is sliding up to it.

I expected the filter to also glide - can someone confirm that this is what is supposed to happen after the mod? I'm suspecting that the mod hasn't been done correctly. Thank you.

From what you describe above, I would think there is no filter glide on your RME.

Yes I had it confirmed - they hadn't actually done the mod despite it being on the brief.
