I've used it with Apple's Quartz Composer, a modular visual programming application. It works great with real time visuals in combination with sound (if I would turn the filter down the colour spectrum changes simultaneously with the audio spectrum, that sort of stuff).
I haven't used it in my DAW though but I'm sure it would work great as well. :)

I have used it to control my M-tron through Cubase and synths in Garageband. Works great for that.

works great you can map the analog pots to external to control soft synth parameters in realtime.

Yes! I've used this to "add" extra oscillators to the LP from a softsynth running in Reaper by routing my laptop's audio into the external audio input on the LP. Trigger an arpeggio on the LP and the softsynth syncs right up. Tweak the filter and the EGs to taste.

OR

Flip it around and route the audio out from the LP into your soundcard. Add software effects and tweak them with the LP knobs.

This works beautifully.
