Hello everyone!

Nice to "meet" you all.

I'm new to the forum, but not to Moogs.

Back in the day I had a set of Taurus I pedals, a Mini, a Prodigy, a MemoryMoog Plus, and even briefly a Polymoog.
Like a fool, I sold everything but the MemoryMoog Plus - which I still have today.
And just a few days ago I got a Prodigy in mint condition - its like an old friend come home.

I also have a Roland JD 800 (sorta pseudo MemoryMoog!), and an old DX7II FD. Only thing on my absolute "need list" would be a Roland RD700 digi piano. My "want list" would definitely be a Mini. :D

Anyway - wanted to introduce myself.

Also - anyone interested in Prodigy patch sheets - I made some killer ones all by meeself LOL
I'd be happy to email them to you just cuz us Moog maniacs have to stick together.

Peace out.

Cool! I've always wanted a polymoog keyboard, ever since I heard Gary Numan's(SP?) Cars. Can't seem to ever find a working one, though. Nice to "meet you" as well!

Welcome to the forum!

You know they have a few versions of the RD 700. I started to get one for my father to replace his 500 but while I was looking at one they upgraded it with the RD 700 (SX) I think.

Its a very nice keyboard but the thing with Roland is that as soon as you get their products, they upgrade it at a lower price. Like if you just bought the fantom x8, then they come out with the G8 lol.

The 700 though has some really great features. My fathers 500, the keys keep breaking but he practices for hours at a time every single day, so I hope that the 700 units can handle that kind of wear and tear.

Nice to see you and hope to read more from you on your thoughts about Moogs and other things.

Respectfully,
Eric

Wow. Thanks for the welcome, all.

Kevin - LOL - exactly, man. My Poly actually worked ok, it just started to irritate me after a short while - couldn't seem to get the warmth out of it that I wanted. It felt kinda thin and somewhat "screechy" no matter what I did. (The pitch ribbon was kinda fun, though. LOL)
I think I traded a mixing board I wasn't using to get it - and I ended up trading the Poly months later for (get this) a gorgeous mahogany finish 1976 Gibson ES 355 stereo guitar!! Still have that guitar to this day. So, I guess I made out pretty good in the whole deal.

Erik - yup, know whatcha mean about Roland. Also know whatcha mean about the keys - I've had over 20 replaced on my JD800 - but...there ya go! Still, to my ears they sound the richest of all the digitals. Guess there’s always the plus/minus in everything.
Do you know what the RD700 (SX? I think you're right) upgrade added?
Just curious if that would be much of a factor for me in light of what I'm looking for, which would primarily be a great sounding, expressive piano with weighted action. Although, with enough functional "goodies" maybe the upgrade would be the way to go. Any thoughts, anyone?

Thanks again to everyone for the warm welcome - looking forward to learning from all of you, and hope I can offer a little in return.

That's a pretty good deal- The Gibson has gone up in value, while the Polymoog has gone down.

Fwiw, I once owned an RD-1000.
Great piano, but a very mushy action compared to the 700 and later pianos.
