But, your resonating speakers don't have the driver/ magnet assembly in them do they?

Oh yeah, they do! They're Celestion G12-65s.
So I can use either/or....

I really love the growly ring mod tone in there. Nice overall feel -- the groove really draws you in. The textures blend very well, dense but distinct most of the time.

Well Randall, your posts and setups have really had me thinking the last few months

I have looked seriously into getting a mass attenuator (and some other cab ideas) since I am/ have been in the market for a new amp.... I am probably going to go the combo route.. but plaan to expirment with some cab design in the future.

However, after playing 50 or 60 different amps- the one that really matched perfectly to my tone just happened to have a nice feature where you select how many watts the head runs at (between 10 and 100) so you can still get full power saturation at lower volumes. at 20 watts it had a tone for me that surpassed and was better matched than anything else I have played (for my electric violin).

I even brought along my 104z to test how the amp handeled the insanity in the loop... and I was quite pleased.

now.. the plot to get one. it may be a month or two before i take the plunge, but I found my amp. :) http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/ ... =146233355

And I just found out today that they are releasing the 2x12 cab with celeston 80's in a month :) (the same speakers in the combo) The cab can be converted from open backed or traditionally sealed as well.

can this day get any better?

if you can get to a guitar center that has one.. it is well worth a test drive. yowzers.

If you're talking about getting an amp head and a 2X12 cab, your back will love you for it. 95lbs is hefty!! :)

Yep.

head and separate 2x12 cab. at gigs i will run the cab backstage and crank it :)

the head still weighs 60 pounds. but that seems featherweight compared to the 95.

I also have plans on testing the cab (even though the body is a tad small) in the 1x12 detuned with the passive radiator. so many fun options.

Added a new tune to my site - it's in the #2 slot, entitled " all along."
In it, I use the FreqBox in my effects loop with a Skreddy Mayo in front of the amp. Doubled square waves equal smooth, for me. In the middle section, I use the Bass MuRF - no Freq - and all then run through the Sherman FB2 and my venerable MF-104.

Good stuff. You have quite a bit of talent. I have a guitar, but since I can only play two songs on it(Smoke on the Water and Interstellar Overdrive), it's not listed in my signature. I have a lot of respect for good guitarists, an you, sir, are excellent!
