Best of Factory Patches...

Post by jgirv » Thu Jun 05, 2008 8:33 pm

...using the MIDI-OX utility, I was able to extract the individual sysex files for each of the patches from all three sets of factory patches... then I sent my favorites back to the LP and saved the bunch as a complete sysex file...

...and I found, as a previous poster did, that you had to increase the buffer in MIDI-OX for the accurate results... other than taking a bit of time to do, it's pretty handy to have access to any combination of factory sounds... I wonder if there would be an objection to posting the individual patch sysex files here... they are, of course, tiny, so space isn't the issue... any thoughts? thanks, jgirv

Pardon my ignorance, but where does one find this MIDI-OX utility?

jgirv: I like to use http://www.stashbox.org for hosting small files. They'll give you a nice link that you can copy/paste into a forum post.

I am curious to know which patches were your favorites!

...thanks for the link, Amos! ... I'll definitely set that up. My favorite patches tend to be the expressive leads... I do a lot of classical perf/recording using them as starting off points... Actually, I'll also post my "combined favorites" set of 100 patches as a sysex file for anyone interested in such a thing. I'll need to set this up from the home studio tonight... more later, jgirv

Selections from TE, SE, and SE II factory sets now posted

Post by jgirv » Mon Jun 09, 2008 10:54 pm

Well, the "best of" leads and basses (mostly) are now posted at stashbox...

I need to find out how to post multiple files, as stashbox seemed to only accept one at a time.... and i've got 300 patches to post!

If you do check out the file i posted, be aware it's just one persons' personal favorites... i hope to have all 300 separate files posted soon, so you can pick and choose your own favorites. more later, jgirv
