Phatty Upgrade

Post by CheeseDetective » Sun Apr 13, 2008 4:00 pm

I think one of the problems here lies in the fact that some Tribute owners with the EGR noise problem aren't altogether charmed by Moogs methods and until a costless solution to this annoying problem is presented we will remain so. A solution has been promised, I know, and hopefully can be implemented without the need to upgrade the memory . . .Although, maybe the extra memory is needed because the rest of the memory, that could have been used for extra features, is now being used up by the EGR noise work-a-round thing. Moving forward is good, but moving forward without wiping your arse not good.

If you don't get this, and why people (me included) feel weird about this, i cannot help you.
Superior how? Who said? I don't recall anyone saying that the Tribute was the superior model. The Tribute was advertised as a limited edition synth with wood ends and a signature. People that bought it (myself included) paid extra for a limited edition synth with wood ends and a signature. The Stage was advertised as the cheaper alternative because it had rubber ends, no signature and would be produced in more numbers. I don't recall the Stage being advertised as inferior to the Tribute in any way.

No I don't get it and I guess we can't help each other. Let's just agree to disagree and leave it at that.
Well, thats why i wrote the superior in quotation marks. It's not written anywhere, but a lot of people felt like that back then.

Disregarding that, wouldn't it be nice if the two models of what is supposed to be V1.0 would be compatible enough to run the same OS upgrade?

The Stage is LP 2.0, and the LP 2 is in reality the LP 3.0

I just think consumers should have been told, when they had the choice to buy one of both (Stage or Tribute).

we'll have the option of sending our Tribute back to Moog for the memory upgrade? that sounds reasonable to me. :)
