Stage's keyboard

Tribute owner #860 .Tried my first stage yesterday-it plays like a different synth!I was quite amazed how good it played compared to my tribute.
The most obvious improvement being the keyboard.I don't remember reading on this forum or anywhere else that Moog had come up with a new and improved keyboard.This one was totally smooth and much better to play than my uneven tribute.Any other tribute owners players tried a stage?

Also have Moogerfoogers MF-104Z and MF-102 which are the dog's bollocks!

Great playing, Roy. What's atop the Rhodes? The little bit at 1:08 sounded like Clavinet. Good band.

Thanks Sine- yup it's a Hohner E7 Clavinet. 60 strings give it some nice vibrations!

Still keen to hear from those who have played both tribute and stage for their
impressions-I loved the feel of the stage!Seemed somehow more stable than mine.

here's my wonky Tribute keyboard
The stage I played was perfectly straight and smooth and I was wondering when Moog improved it? Was it just for the Stage or do some Tributes also have the uniformly even keyboard?

My tribute keyboard #805 is actually pretty straight, but not perfectly. I can only speculate but, Moog Music being a small company with limited staff I suppose by comparison the Tributes were assembled before the assembly pipeline had matured....after which Moog had time to make some production shortcuts and optimisations to produce mass stages more viably. I like the fact the TE is the genesis of the LP and can relate well to its mild differences and idiocyncratic quirks. It is part of what makes this instrument unique! I found a 2cm sqr white brick with little metal contacts rattling round in mine....so I had already opened my synth before I had played a note....I may upload a picture see if Amos can explain it! Im guessing its the standard stuff stuck up the sleeves of a moog assembly folks. Still to no detriment. By the way I have seen a store demo stage like yours. Having said that this was at Turnkey. It saddens me to see the state of there store demo gear...Some true bufoonic baboons let loose. loose knobs headphone jack mangled..A travesty to such great synths.

If it really worries you about the level then like most things im sure it is possible to get in there and adjust it. something to ask Amos. I myself would not worry about it...After all you can play very well....and the lights! look at the lights!With your skills, band and the wood grain finish your already there!

Can the action be adjusted Amos?
If so could I get this done at the same time as getting the hardware upgrade and will this be possible via Prolyd (Moog's distributor)in Oslo where I bought it?

My own view regarding the tribute owners concerns voiced in other threads is that as long as we have the offer of an upgrade or fix then we really can't complain.

I also want to say that the phatty played through a tube amp (Fender twin reverb) is truly an awesome axe! Quite unlike any other synth I have ever played for its richness of tone and incredible variety of sounds.Real-time sonic adustment (knob twiddling) is where its at!

Line6 Guitar POD is another nice companion ...

Especially the auto-wah.
