CP-251 with MIDI, ADSR Envelope and Tap Tempo

Post by Dannymon » Thu Apr 03, 2008 11:53 am

I was reading another thread regarding the possibility of a MIDI Murf and that reminded me of the reason I haven't bought the CP-251: Lack of MIDI.

I currently own a Little Phatty and 5 Moogerfoogers, and its really a shame that there is no way to send the envelope signals to the rest of the MFs. It would be awesome to be able to create a pad sound and and run it through the MF103 using the envelopes of the Phatty to control the Phaser's frequency. Maybe the little phatty could send the envelope signal via MIDI (A/D) and then have the new CP251 convert the envelope signals to a voltage in order to be used with the MFs.

Also, the addition of MIDI/Tap Tempo would make the CP251 more performance friendly, especially for guitar players, who cannot crouch during a perfornce to change the settings.

I think CP251 style controller with MIDI, would be a great addition to the MF line up.

What do you guys think?
