well, many features are now implemented in a "proof of concept" sense, but there are many refinements to be made, and no doubt there will be bugs we have to fix. We had a meeting about this yesterday, and we determined that our plan of action is to get all of the currently-implemented features working very well for version 2.0, in time for this version to ship with the first LP Stage II's. In theory, this will happen around the middle of April.
Then, as soon thereafter as we can, we will release OS 2.1 which will implement all of the "extra" features that we really want to put in version 2, but can't add in all at once for fear of delaying our ability to ship product.
Once LP OS v2.0 is finished and shipping out the door, we can release it for current LP Stage owners... although we want to work very carefully to make sure there are no problems with the firmware upgrade process before we do a public release. Likewise, once OS v2.1 is solid and stable enough to put into production, we can release it to our existing users. This is probably the point at which we will port the new code over to the LP Tribute Edition platform (don't worry, we will definitely do this!). We may do a Tribute version of 2.0 but given that 2.1 is going into development virtually the moment that 2.0 is finished, it might not make good sense to spend time (and money) porting 2.0 to the Tribute, when it will be replaced almost immediately by 2.1.
There you have it, the very most current state of affairs. Right now MIDI sync is working beautifully and I am testing the tap tempo, which is in progress.
Cheers,
Amos
