[video] Little Phatty with Doepfer R2M ribbon controller

Post by Zorn » Wed Jan 09, 2008 9:43 am

Here's another of my experiments with the Little Phatty, this time with Doepfer R2M ribbon controller:
I connected the R2M box to the Phatty with two pactch cables: the first controlling the pitch CV and the second for the volume CV (by pressing on the controller).
This is the result:

Very nice solo, it is nice to see the LP used with a different controller than the standard keyboard, especially using CV!

How long did it take you to get hang of getting the proper pitch on the Doepfer?
MF 102,White MF 103, MF 105B, Minitaur, and an LP Stage II w/ CV Out Mod as well!

The ribbon is connected to its controller box, which have 2 CV outs and gate.

It's much easier than a theremin. The scale is regular so the intervals between the octaves have the same lenght.
I set the controller to 3 oct range and put a little mark on every octave.
If you have an average ear you can master it very quickly.

(I'm going to save

for my LP.)

Thanks for the inspiration,
