Great thread

Post by Extraborg » Fri Oct 19, 2007 7:03 am

I've been enjoying listening to the music in this thread and thought I'd add my two-penny worth. It's my rendition of the theme to Dr Who, played on the LP. It is posted elsewhere on this forum, but just to keep all the tunes together, I thought I'd post it here too.

Hope you like it.

Man tell me about that Music Zeit page....is it worth it to register there and can you actually make some money? What about for those in the USA?

I've been browsing for some weeks now and hadn't anything really 100% LP until yesterday when I was asked by a friend to do a little glitchy piece for a modern dance video...
My guidelines were : beat and melody a little buried in the mix, and movie audio samples
The distant pad and organ are Microkorg, the rest (including some of the drum sounds) is Moog Little Phatty

Really just a little piece, but there you go... first LP mp3 post;)

I've been browsing through everyone's songs, and it's nice to hear LP's in music with a different approach. :)
Nice work!

I don't have audible 100% Phatty songs, but it plays a big role in my music.
I have done an ambient/drone series with only the sound of the LP routed through a massive DSP chain, creating an everlasting drone..
If I upload them, I'll post the links here. ;)

In this album the noise, resonating bleeps, first lead and second lead is from the LP:
Direct 192kbps link
Internet Archive album page

I also have 2 videos online for my forthcoming album "Permafrost" with an audible use of the LP:

The sequence (obviously):
Tundra (Live At Staalgraan)

The sequence and lead with 2 LP's (with an actual video):
Hemisphere (Excerpt)
I also created a topic for this video here at the Little Phatty Forum, so if you want to comment on this track feel free to do so: http://moogmusic.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4901

Here is a little song sketch I did last night; all synth sounds are Little Phatty. The main bassline is processed through NI Guitar Rig, and the other layers are basically dry except for compression and some delay. I love this bassline; it makes me happy...

Wow!!! Terrific! This baseline makes me happy too! :)
I realize that I need to work on some effects...

So this is my little piece including the Little Phatty on the bass.
Not much but this is my first song using the Phat: I had just installed it in my studio and I didn't know how it worked then. I still have to learn much about it. It's my first analog synth.

Here it is: Cleanse
