RME OS v3.3 update
RME OS v3.3 update
Hi folks. I have tried to update my Rack Mount from v3.2 to 3.3 using the Voyager Editor, and then MidiOx, but I keep getting the message "Update Failed" on the Voyager and sure enough nothing is working.
The ReadMe file says to begin by selecting Bank B, but both the Editor and the Voyager request Bank A first. I did as requested and selected Bank A, but then I got the first failure message. Subsequently, no matter what I have tried the update fails.
MidiOx hangs about 1/3 of the way through the first sysex file.
Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you so much everyone who has responded.
I still haven't had a moment to try it again...
Fortunately Rudi set up the OS so that it's pretty tough to hose it. I was able to revert back to v3.2 no probs until I can update...hopefully later tonight.
Again, many thanks to all who have offered help!

As soon as I tried again the Editor worked fine. I noticed in another thread that I had to re-initialize the Moog afterword or something, and that may have been part of the problem. Also, I think I needed to turn off midi out on the Voyager.
I do think the editor should do more to make this process simpler, and perhaps include more up-to-date and complete directions.
Thanks again to all for your assistance.

Sorry guys, meanwhile I can't recommend MIDIOX!
I got an USB interface for my new computer and I got massive problems with SysEx transfers too.
I tried so many settings for the buffers in MIDIOX but nothing helped.
Hajo from Germany found the problem in a Windows driver called USBAUDIO.SYS and he changed his Syx-Loader program. He is still working on the program and I could check the first beta version. It works really fine without any troubles even with very big SysEx files.
As soon as he finished his program I will let you know where you can find and download it.
Stay tuned

Rudi

Thanks for the tip, Rudi, I was having trouble upgrading to 3.4 using Midi-ox and saw your buffer settings. After configuring the delay between buffers to match yours, the upgrade went without a hitch.RL wrote:I got the best results without any problems with these settings:

Meanwhile I changed my USB interface and now there are no problems. It is very important that your interface came with own Windows drivers.boose44 wrote:Thanks for the tip, Rudi, I was having trouble upgrading to 3.4 using Midi-ox and saw your buffer settings. MIDIOX is still my favorite program

I agree with you on the Midi drivers.
I have a Midi interface on my M-Audio Delta 1010 that constantly causes me grief, but yet the 2x2 USB Midisport is usually a flawless perfomer. Go figure.
