Is it just me or does anyone else also find the wheels used for pitch and modulation difficult to use? I find them too slick and especially find the pitch wheel tension way too hard. I normally am the guy who likes wheels over a joystick, but the pitch wheel is almost useless in my mind. Does anyone know if the tension is adjustable or if Moog sells a lighter spring to use?
The more that I think about this I feel that maybe Moog should have used a small ribbon for pitch and kept the mod wheel. Maybe it is possible for Moog to offer this as an option (retrofit even for existing models). I seriously would be willing to pay for this setup as it would be the best of both worlds.
Pitch/Modulation Wheels...
Re: Post subject
Hello,
Although I don't have a problem with the wheels, I am all for MM offering an alternative controller section that uses a ribbon (like the Micro/Multi)
for the V'ger and LP. It would probably work particularly well with the Phatty, in that it has fewer controllers than the V'ger.
The ribbon, in this case, could be used for pitch bend and trills, leaving the mod wheel to an additional function.
I would guess there isn't an existing source for these parts, so the design would probably have to be tweaked, and the device manufactured to fit
the V'ger or Phatty. For MM, it would be a question of enough potential buyers opting for them to make the costs worthwhile.
Regards,
Lawrence

I've never been a fan of spring-loaded pitch wheels. I love how I can just drop a whole octave below by slamming the wheel down on my Rogue... it's so easy and useful. I totally agree about the voyager, the spring is intense, and the wheels are super slick... I'm sure it's just something to get used to.
the best pitch controller is Nord's pitch stick, or the Joystick on Elektron's keyboard version of the Monomachine
