Voyager and Fat Controller

Post by dizz » Wed Apr 28, 2004 9:25 pm

Hi,

I wondered if anyone else uses a Frostwave Fat Controller? I just received mine and I believe the speed function LED is bad. The guy's at Frostwave were fairly clueless and I'm not sure if I want to hassel with returning it. The unit works just fine and I can replace the LED myself if needed. I also wanted to know about the "B" range switch, They didn't seem to know if the up position was 0-5V or 0-10V. It really doesn't matter since I'm running it in series which is 0-5V thru channel A-I think,,,, I'm using it as a basic 16 step just for the Voyager, with the clock slaved to a drum machine and thru another keyboard. Please let me know your experiences and any other tips, tricks, or alternative config ideas would be much appreciated.

Enjoy!

Did you talk to Paul at Frostwave? They are historically on it as far a support.

Hey dss

Yes, I did get an email reply from Paul. He said the LED must have been overlooked (didn't offer to repair or replace it!) and had no clue about the "B" range switch until they make their next prod. run ?!?! He closed by saying "happy sequencing". The box works fine except for the LED, which is no big deal. I was so amused/frustrated by the email that I haven't responded, and probably won't. So you've dealt with them before? Do you have any of their gear?

The resonance filter. Wow...I'm kinda suprised.
