I will be running my Voyager, Roland TB-303 Devil Fish and TR-707-727, Jomox X-Base 999, etc.. through a Motu 828 mk11 and into Digital Performer. Looking at the API 7600, Universal Audio 6176, and Avalon 737. Not really stuck on those three exclusively but something in that range that can handle synths and drum machines and an occasional vocal. I try to produce tech-house music if that helps. I would really appreciate your opinions.

UA might color the sound more than the other two, but that's hardly a bad thing! i'd say look for a high-end retailer that might have some display models available and try them out first, as they're all pretty awesome (and pricey).curtisb wrote:I will be running my Voyager, Roland TB-303 Devil Fish and TR-707-727, Jomox X-Base 999, etc.. through a Motu 828 mk11 and into Digital Performer. I use the UA 6176 and it sounds amazing. ANYTHING you use is going to "color" the sound, down to the slightest nudge of EQ when printing your final mix. But the 6176 retains the warmth of your analogs which is subsequently lost when just going straight to digital.
It's kind of ironic to invest so much money into analog synths only to lose the sound of them when recording to digital. A good tube channel strip should be as essential of a purchase as your analog is.
