vx-351: worth getting?
Has anyone out there been blown away by using the vx-351 with their voyager and moogerfoogers? I was looking for a way to control my moog delay somehow with my voyager...the 351 seems to be the best way to do it. What about the cp-251 control processor? Is it a more useful thing to get or should i go for the 351?

the cp-351 gives you access to the voyagers CV outs. Since there are 18 of them I am sure they just did a box for space reasons (plus some people don't want or need them) You would probably need this to really get control on your delay via CV from the voyager which is what it seems you want to do. The 251 adds tons of cool features to the voyager like another LFO, a different noise source, etc. If you can find both at a deal they make a great combo.

hey there redeye. imvho you'll have a lot of fun controlling the analog delay from the voyager using the 351 - one thing i like to do is control the feedback from my touchpad - set the delay for a short slapback with 0 feedback, then accent notes by maximizing feedback _as_ i release them. although you can VC delay time from the pad simultaneously, i feel that i get more musical results by mapping this to the modwheel - tweaking the wheel slightly with feedback up full makes for a very neat effect to my ear, and it's fun to have each wheel perform a slightly different type of pitchbend.redeyeflight wrote:yeah i think i really need to get one cause i have all the moogerfooger pedals and i'd love to be able to control them via the voyager. thanks for the responses!
regarding the 251: i've got all the foogers also. i recently had to go out and get a second 251 because i routinely ran out of control modules - it's a very cool little box, sort of a swiss army knife for the mooger/voyager connection.
although you get two attenuators and a couple of mults on the 351, these are two modules i _regularly_ run out of. for an inexpensive solution to this dilemma, check moogarchives and root around for the 'port-a-pots' and 'mini mults'...easy and cheap to build.
ok, back to lurking with me.
