Update to OS 2 problem

Post by martin » Sun Apr 04, 2004 1:27 pm

Hi, I was wondering if anyone had this problem: I wanted to update from OS 1.0 (still first version installed) to 1.5 (and subsequently to OS 2.0.)
I downloaded MIDI OX and connected everything fine.
I then managed to back up the OS 1.5 boot system, System rom and presets to my computer.
But when attempteing to load 1.5 OS (first the actual new version, then the boot system, right?) the install would go 3/4 up the bar and then an error message would come up saying something about an output port being busy. And the install would not be continued.
Has anybody had this problem or could it be something minor and silly i forgot to do?
Or does anyone have a suggestion for a program for Win XP which is less complicated to handle and would transfer files without too much hassle?
Thanks for any help! I am desperate to upgrade... :o(

Hi Martin,

there is a (very old) topic called "Best software for performing OS updates?" at the moment at page 4 of this forum!!!

You'll find some hints for well working parameters of MiDi-Ox ...

Thanks for your help, setting a lower value for output buffer did the trick!
